Contributing to a poverty free, just society by holistically empowering interventions; that catch the young at an early age, and that help the disadvantaged and underprivileged group(s), so that they become inspired, healthy and engaged citizens, fulfilling their dreams and helping to uplift the people and communities around them.
Recognizing that the backgrounds, where the youths come from, largely shape their behavior and way of thinking, JPF targets the poor and most vulnerable individuals and households in both rural and urban settings, including women and the chronically ill in order to improve their livelihoods, thereby enabling better lives for them.
By focusing on the quadrant overlapping spheres of influence which are: Education / Skills Training, Social Protection, Food Security and Livelihoods Promotion, JPF aims to achieve this goal through the key output of increased participation by beneficiaries and communities in setting their priorities for, and taking ownership of, the proposed life – changing interventions, thus promoting demand led programming and sustainability.
Jonpris Foundation principles are strongly embedded in Christian beliefs, particularly James Chapter 2 vs 14 – 17, which states that it does not help to feel pity for the downtrodden without doing anything to uplift them from their predicament. So our Values are:
> Respect for human dignity / Rights
> Understanding
> Empathy
> Honesty and Integrity
> Teamwork
> Excellence
