OUR Work

TARGET GROUPS

The target groups for Jonpris Foundation projects are the vulnerable groups, i.e.:
1) The transient poor,
2) The disadvantaged and underprivileged youths especially school dropouts,
3) The elderly,
4) The chronically ill i.e. the HIV and AIDs infected and affected, diabetics and those with cancer.
5) The disabled, Orphans and vulnerable children.

These vulnerable groups should not only be too poor to sustain their livelihoods, but should also show the initiative and desire to shape their own future / destiny.

JONPRIS FOUNDATION SUPPORTING SPORTS

At the Grassroots, JPF also supports the local initiatives that help to keep the youths engaged and therefore away from disruptive behaviours. In that regard, JPF sponsors Culture events and sporting activities like National Culture days in Schools, and in the communities. In 2017, Jonpris Foundation Trust sponsored a Floating Trophy for the best Culture event at the Harare Cultural Gala

The Trophy is still floating in schools in Harare. The latest sponsorship is for the WASU Soccer and Netball Leagues in Nyaduve communities in Rusape, involving the unemployed youths and women in the community.

Apart from keeping them busy, it also improves their health status by keeping the fit. So this is an ongoing event.

Infrastructure Improvements

As in any country in the world, Zimbabweans living in the rural areas depend on natural resources as an integral provider of both food and non-food items. So Jonpris Foundation Trust is actively promoting interventions that will help rural and urban households to recover and sustainably improve their living environment so that it becomes easier for them to access their livelihoods and other life enhancing facilities. The Foundation Trust sponsored construction of a small bridge over Chipadze river in the Nyaduve Community of Makoni East District. .

Poultry and Egg production project

Musashame Poultry and Egg production project in Nyaduve Community of Makoni East comprises of 15 Widows and Widowers The direct beneficiaries of the project were the 15 Memberss plus their families, i.e. about 50 people. Indirect beneficiaries were 150 families in the surrounding communities who accessed both the chickens and eggs and the grinding mill service which resulted from the sales proceeds of the project

JONPRIS FOUNDATION TRUST (JPF) PROGRAMS CONTI....

Social protection programs:

The Trust would like to promote Community Home Based Care (CHBC), Training and advice on basic nursing and palliative care as part of the Social Protection program to improve the quality of life of the most vulnerable and the poorest. Other activities to be promoted are community gardens , conservation farming and small live stock interventions.

Education and Vocational Skills Training

As society, we are struggling to come to terms with the failure rate in both Cambridge and Zimsec exams, particularly in the last decade or so, with some rural schools recording only 16% pass rate.

Vocational Training Conti...

This has led to too many school dropouts from just after grade 7 and before completing 'O' level, and between secondary and tertiary level of education.
